Installing the Aplon pixel

What the pixel does, how to add it, and which tools stop working without it.

The Aplon pixel is a small piece of tracking that sits on your storefront. It watches how shoppers move through your store, which lets Aplon connect a visit to an order.

Your orders and profit do not need it. Anything about how people got there does.

What stops working without it

  • Conversion Funnel — nothing to build a funnel from
  • Channel Journey — no way to see the path to a sale
  • Attributed revenue on the Ads screen — you will see what you spent, but not what it earned
  • Campaign matching in Email Marketing — sends without sales attached

Installing it

Go to Settings, open the pixel section, and follow the steps to add it to your storefront. It takes a couple of minutes and does not require editing your theme's code.

Give it a day

The pixel only records from the moment it is installed. It cannot see the past.

That means a funnel or a journey report opened an hour after installing will look thin or empty. Leave it a day of normal traffic before judging anything.

Checking it is working

Settings shows whether events are arriving and when the last one was. If that is empty a day after installing, something has not taken.

Why your numbers will never match exactly

Some shoppers block tracking, and some arrive through routes the pixel cannot see. Attributed revenue is therefore always a little lower than your total revenue, and lower than what ad platforms claim for themselves.

That is normal and it is not a fault. The pixel tells you what it can genuinely follow, rather than filling in the rest with assumptions.
