Why Aplōn
Aplōn is Greek for simple. That isn’t a design principle, it’s the product decision every one of these comes from.
Cost of goods that changes by country, because landing a product in Germany doesn’t cost what it costs in Ohio. Bundles that draw down their components and are costed as what’s in the box. Checkout drop-off by step: contact, address, shipping, payment. So a leak has a location, not a percentage. Refunds kept apart from returns.
No onboarding call, no implementation fee, no data team, no tagging plan. You approve the Shopify permissions and close the tab. Today’s revenue is there almost immediately; margin follows once you’ve entered your costs, once.
Aplo doesn’t answer from a single dashboard. When you ask a question it receives the relevant slice of every surface at once: P&L, ads, cohorts, inventory, refunds, then answers across all of them. It’s built to tell you when your data doesn’t cover the question rather than fill the gap, and like any AI it can still get things wrong, so check the numbers that matter.
Profit analytics, ad attribution, cohorts and retention, inventory forecasting, reporting, and an assistant that works across all of them. Bought separately that’s nine vendors, nine logins and nine sets of numbers that don’t agree with each other, and no way to tell which one is right. Fourteen days free, no card, no annual contract.
The product
Four of the tools you’ll use every week. There are another twenty-one below.
True profit & loss
Aplon takes gross revenue and subtracts every real cost: discounts, refunds, cost of goods, shipping you actually paid, payment fees off your Shopify Payments ledger, ad spend and your operating expenses. What is left is a net profit figure you can act on.
“Which product is quietly losing money?”
House Blend 1kg. It brings in $18,400, 2.5× your next product, and keeps $1,100 after shipping and ad spend. Single Origin does $7,200 and keeps $2,440.
Checkout funnel
Shopify tells you how many reached checkout and how many paid. Aplon’s own storefront pixel watches the four steps in between, so the drop-off has an address instead of a percentage.
“Why was last Tuesday so slow?”
Traffic held steady. It was checkout completion that fell, and almost all of it at the shipping step. 41% of people who reached it left there.
Ads & attribution
Meta, Google and Snapchat report the ROAS that makes them look good, and none of them sees your refunds or your cost of goods. Aplon attributes with its own pixel and measures every campaign against the break-even that comes from your real margin.
“Is my Summer Sale campaign working?”
Meta shows 3.2×, but 38% of those orders were refunded within two weeks, which Meta never sees. After refunds and COGS it returns 1.7×, under your 2.9× break-even.
Customers & cohorts
Lifetime value calculated from real repeat behaviour rather than an average order times a guess, revenue retention by acquisition month, and the segment worth winning back before it goes quiet for good.
“Which customers should I win back?”
142 buyers from your Q1 cohort ordered twice and went quiet. They reorder every 45 days on average and are 60+ days overdue, worth about $4,900 of lifetime value.
Aplo, your store’s analyst
A chatbot bolted onto one dashboard can only tell you what that dashboard already shows. When you ask Aplo something, it receives the relevant slice of every analytics surface at once, so it can connect your refund rate to a campaign, or your reorder rhythm to a stock-out, in a single answer.
“Why is profit down when sales are up?”
Revenue is up 12% but net profit slipped 8%. Your mix moved to the 1kg bags, 61% of orders against 44% last quarter, and they carry your thinnest margin once shipping is counted.
“What should I reorder before I run out?”
House Blend 1kg is moving 9 units a day with 41 left, about 4 days of cover. Your supplier takes 12 to restock.
“Where should I grow next?”
Australian customers spend 28% more per order and refund half as often as your US buyers, and they found you organically, with no ad spend.

FAQ
No. Every account starts with a free 14-day trial, no card required. The trial runs at Growth level, so you get true profit, ad performance and the full analytics suite, plus 100 Aplo questions. You only enter payment details if you choose a plan when it ends.
Sign up here with your email and connect your Shopify store in about a minute. It’s the official Shopify OAuth flow, so you approve the permissions yourself and can revoke them any time. Your dashboards fill in as soon as your order history finishes importing.
You tell it once. Aplon reads the countries each product actually sold to from your order history and asks for the cost of goods per variant per destination, so the 1kg bag going to Germany isn’t costed like the 250g going next door. Everything else it works out itself: payment fees come from your Shopify Payments balance ledger rather than a percentage estimate, and shipping comes from what you were charged.
No, and this is where most profit apps get it wrong. They hold one cost per product and apply it to everything you’ve ever sold, so a price rise silently rewrites last year’s margin. Aplon keeps costs as dated versions: an order from March is costed at what you were paying in March. You can also say "it was always this" when you’re correcting a mistake rather than recording a change.
Most profit apps read one "reached checkout" number and one "purchased" number from Shopify, which tells you that you’re losing people but never where. Aplon runs its own storefront pixel that subscribes to the four steps inside checkout: contact info, address, shipping method, payment. So a drop-off has a location. "You lose 31% of checkouts" is a statistic; "890 people left at the shipping step" is a job.
When you ask a question, Aplon gathers the relevant slice of your store: recent orders, your top products, the metrics behind the tool you’re looking at. Aplo answers from those actual numbers rather than from general knowledge, in plain English. It’s built to say when the data doesn’t cover your question instead of filling the gap. It is still AI, so check any figure before you act on it.
Yes. We connect to Shopify via their official OAuth integration, which means you grant us only the permissions we need. Your data is stored encrypted in our database and is never sold or shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time from your Shopify admin.
Starter ($79/mo) is where you see the numbers: revenue, orders, funnel and customer analytics on one store, with 250 Aplo questions a month and 90 days of history. Growth ($149/mo) is where you see the profit: true margin after COGS, real payment fees and shipping, plus ad performance with break-even ROAS, alerts, the weekly digest, forecasting so you know what runs out when and where the month lands, and Store Scan run against your own orders. It raises history to 5 years, Aplo to 1,000 questions and the account to 3 seats. Pro ($349/mo) is where you act on it: pause campaigns and move budgets from inside Aplon, see whether your growth is speeding up or already peaked, export to Excel, and work across stores with 9 seats. Most merchants want Growth, the first plan that answers "am I actually making money?", and move to Pro once they want Aplon doing something about the answer.
Starter covers one store. Growth includes 1 and reaches 2, Pro includes 3 and reaches 5, and Operator includes 5 and reaches 10 — extra stores are $99/mo each. Cross-store analytics turns on once you have two. Running more than that? Reach out and we’ll sort something out.
You’ll see a clear message letting you know your quota for the month is used up. Every analytics tool stays fully accessible. The limit only applies to Aplo, the chat. The counter resets at the start of each calendar month. Starter includes 250 questions a month; Growth raises that to 1,000, and Pro is unlimited.
Three minutes from now you’ll know what you actually keep. Free for 14 days, no card required.
