How fresh is my data

What "Refreshed 6 minutes ago" means, and why a brand-new order might not appear straight away.

Aplon reads your orders from Shopify and holds them briefly so that moving between tools is fast. The timestamp on screen tells you exactly how old the figures are.

The short version

Order data refreshes at least every fifteen minutes. The "Refreshed X ago" label tells you when it last happened.

If you place a test order and it does not appear immediately, that is why. Wait for the next refresh.

Why we do not fetch live every time

Fetching every order from Shopify on every screen would make each tool take several seconds to open, and switching between two tools would fetch the same orders twice.

Fifteen minutes is short enough that no decision you make is based on stale numbers, and long enough that the app feels instant.

What is always live

Not everything is on that cycle. Stock levels are read live, because a runway estimate built on stock from a quarter of an hour ago is misleading in a way a revenue figure is not.

If the figures look stuck

Check the timestamp first. If it is genuinely old and not moving, the usual causes are:

Your store connection needs renewing. Settings will say so if it does.

Shopify is having trouble. Their status page will tell you, and there is nothing to fix on your side.

If neither applies and the timestamp is stuck, that is worth reporting to us with the time you noticed it.

Still stuck? Send us a message — we reply by email, usually the same day.
