Second Brain: connect Aplon to Claude or ChatGPT

Second Brain connects Aplon to your own AI assistant, so you can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code about your store in your own chats. Open Second Brain in the sidebar.

To add it to Claude, press Add to Claude. Claude opens with Aplon already filled in. Press Continue, then Add, then Connect, sign in to Aplon, tick the stores it may read and press Allow. You can also add it by hand: in Claude choose Customize, then Connectors, "+ Add", "Add custom connector", and paste the connector address shown under Open the steps.

If you added Aplon to Claude before, even if you later disconnected it in Aplon, do not add it again. Claude allows it only once and says a connector with this address already exists. In Claude open Customize, then Connectors, find Aplon and press Connect or Reconnect. If it only offers Disconnect, press that, then Connect. On the Second Brain screen the button then reads Reconnect Claude and takes you straight to that list.

To add it to ChatGPT, open ChatGPT on the web and go to Plugins. Press Add, then "Create custom MCP server". Name it Aplon, paste the connector address and keep OAuth. Tick "I understand and want to continue" and press "Create as a plugin". Press "Continue to Aplon", sign in, tick the stores it may read and press Allow. Then ask about your store in a chat, starting with "Using Aplon". This works on the free ChatGPT plan too.

For Claude Code, run the command shown under Open the steps, then type /mcp, choose aplon and sign in. If you added it before, skip the command and just sign in again from /mcp.

Your assistant can read everything Aplon shows for the stores you chose: sales, profit and loss, orders, products and costs, inventory, customers, reviews, email, and Meta and Google ads down to each campaign, ad and creative. It cannot change anything, in Aplon, in Shopify or in your ad accounts.

Customer names and email addresses are only shared for a store where you tick that box. What your assistant reads is sent to its provider and handled under their terms and your settings there.

One connection can read several stores. Tick them when you connect, or later open another store in Aplon and press Also read on the Second Brain screen. There is nothing to do in Claude or ChatGPT for that: start a new chat there to ask about it. When it reads more than one store, say which store you mean. To stop it reading one store, press Manage, then Stop reading. Disconnect everywhere ends it for every store.

The brain on the Second Brain screen lights up while an assistant is connected, and a note appears each time it reads something. Press Disconnect on the same screen at any time and it stops reading straight away.
